I was reminded by Facebook of all things to note my baby's first full sentence: Two weeks ago, while I was smelling her diaper, my 15-month-old said: "No poop, Mama."
She's a talker like Annie was. Maggie on the other hand, not so much. Although, everyday she seems to say something new. The other day, Annie was in bed sleeping and Maggie walked up to the bed, pointed, and said clearly, "Sissy!" I hadn't heard that before. She's only 13 months, I shouldn't push it. Soon enough I'll be wishing she'd just be quiet so I could enjoy a quiet car ride.
I'm a 33-year-old mom to two goofy, lovely girls. I've always wanted to start a journal for them, but can't seem to put pen to paper at the end of each day. With this blog, I'm glad to have a record of our lives when they were little. Berit, 5, and Marta, 3, allow Daddy Trevor and me to shower them with affection at our home in Petoskey. This space will also be a place of reflection during our adoption over the coming year. What a beautiful journey!
I never knew there was a kids' book called Pancakes for Breakfast, by Tomie dePaola, until a friend told me about it last year. We just... eat a lot of pancakes.
