Hi! Just wanted to drop in and tell the world (a.k.a. my readers, a.k.a. my sister and two of my mom's friends and one devoted college friend) that I'm at a coffee shop by myself. Writing.
Just thought I should preserve this moment in posterity (a.k.a. the internet blog that could blink out at any second and I wouldn't know how to fix it).
At least you four know. Raises empty coffee cup, smiles at weirded-out barista.
I'm a 33-year-old mom to two goofy, lovely girls. I've always wanted to start a journal for them, but can't seem to put pen to paper at the end of each day. With this blog, I'm glad to have a record of our lives when they were little. Berit, 5, and Marta, 3, allow Daddy Trevor and me to shower them with affection at our home in Petoskey. This space will also be a place of reflection during our adoption over the coming year. What a beautiful journey!
I never knew there was a kids' book called Pancakes for Breakfast, by Tomie dePaola, until a friend told me about it last year. We just... eat a lot of pancakes.
